In the streets there are no crowds of tourists but plenty of Spanish temperament. There are also the spectacular Alcazaba, the renovated Roman amphitheater and a number of museums including the Picasso and Carmen Thyssen Museum. The drive alone is well worth it. After a steep climb through the Sierra de Las Nieves you drive through the high plains towards Ronda, spotting birds of prey and wildlife along the way. The town itself has a beautiful setting , with an immense gorge. The bullring is the oldest in Spain and has an interesting museum. Guaro has two festivities of its own in addition to the regular holidays. In the second week of September, the “Luna Mora” is celebrated. A festival where Guaro turns into a Moorish bazaar while there are performances of music everywhere and famous artists from all over Andalusia perform in the open-air auditorium. During the evening and night, the entire town is illuminated by thousands of candles. Ronda & the white villages: a spectacular mountain route<\/h2>\n
\nMany Pueblos Blancos (white villages) such as Guaro, Tolox, Alozaina and Casarabonela were founded in Moorish and Roman times. They are a stone’s throw away from El Molino Santisteban and are well worth a visit. We have maps of all the villages and know the good restaurants where you will not meet any tourist.In the old center of Marbella there are nice stores and terraces and it is still quite authentic. \nAround mid-May every year the “Romer\u00eda San Isidro” takes place. From Guaro comes the colorful procession with the holy statue to the R\u00edo Grande and 100 meters away from El Molino Santisteban on the banks of the river is celebrated and a huge paella is prepared where everyone is welcome.
\nM\u00e1laga has the Feria de M\u00e1laga in August. Ten days of celebration in the city and on the festival grounds a little outside. Horses, flamenco dresses, Cartojal (Malaga wine) the fairground and very, very many sociable Spaniards partying, highly recommended!
